27 SUMMIT MAIA RESIDENCE

Features

27 Summit Maya Residence unfolds as a continuous interior landscape, where enclosure becomes an inhabitable field. Set within the evolving residential fabric of Bangalore, the 4,400 sq.ft. residence explores how domestic space can move beyond convention, transforming interior architecture into a composed and immersive spatial condition.

At its core, the project rejects the idea of interiors as a collection of discrete elements. Walls, ceilings, and surfaces are treated as a continuous medium, shaped, softened, and aligned to dissolve hard transitions. Edges are reduced, planes are curved, and movement through the space becomes progressive rather than segmented, allowing the experience to unfold gradually.

Materiality operates as the primary medium. Stone is composed as mass, veined, extended, and embedded across surfaces to establish depth and permanence. These planes are fractured and recessed to introduce moments of tension within an otherwise restrained environment. The result is a spatial condition that feels grounded, yet subtly dynamic.

Light is treated as a structural layer within the project. Concealed illumination traces edges and washes across textured surfaces, dissolving boundaries between planes while reinforcing geometry. Rather than highlighting objects, light reveals form, accentuating curvature and amplifying material depth to create a soft, controlled atmosphere.

The planning maintains clarity without fragmentation. Living, resting, and transitional spaces are aligned through uninterrupted sightlines, allowing the residence to read as a cohesive whole. Large openings extend this continuity outward, drawing in light and landscape while establishing a quiet dialogue between interior and exterior.

Furniture operates as a counterpoint to the architectural envelope. Soft geometries and muted tones introduce human scale within the sculpted interior, tempering the weight of stone and the precision of detailing. Each element supports the spatial language, reinforcing the composition rather than interrupting it.

What emerges is an architecture defined by restraint and control, where richness is achieved through precision rather than excess. 27 Summit Maya Residence shapes experience through material depth, calibrated geometry, and the measured presence of light, creating a space that is not imposed, but carefully formed.
